Sportsbooks for Malaysian players switch between several odds formats, and comparing prices means converting them. These calculators do the arithmetic for you. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent or stored.
How the conversions work
Every format can be worked out from Hong Kong (HK) odds, which show the profit per RM1 staked.
- Decimal = HK + 1.
- Malay = HK when HK is 1.00 or less; otherwise โ1 รท HK.
- Indonesian = HK when HK is 1.00 or more; otherwise โ1 รท HK.
- American = HK ร 100 when HK is 1.00 or more; otherwise โ100 รท HK.
Our guide to Malay, Hong Kong and decimal odds explains how to read each format, with examples.
Implied probability and margin
Implied probability is 1 รท the decimal odds: 1.85 implies 54.1%. Add up the implied probabilities for every outcome in a market and the total comes to more than 100%. The excess is the bookmaker's margin.
The fair odds in the margin calculator remove that margin in proportion to each price. It's a common way to estimate what a price would be without the margin, not an exact measure of the true chances.
